Community Events
The following events are annual Alvarado traditions that require teams of enthusiastic volunteers. If you can lend a hand, your assistance will be very much appreciated. Interested? Email our PTA Volunteer Coordinator or leave a note in the PTA President mailbox in the office.
WORK DAY
Description: Once a year we scour the school, cleaning from the walls on down. The sound of power tools on the yard means bookshelves and benches are being built. Add to that the smell of food and the good company, and you’ve got a great one-time weekend commitment and a school full of grateful children and staff.
TEQUILA PARTY
Description: Tequila tasting, food, and fun! At an Alvarado parent’s home. Fundraising benefits Alvarado PTA. {Fall 2019 date TBD}.
FALL HARVEST FESTIVAL
Description: Plan bouncy houses, Cake Walk, pumpkins, entertainment, activities, raffle prizes and more for this fun fall event that follows the Dia de los Muertos art workshop put on by the Art Committee. Or, help out on the day of the event with setup and running booths. More details coming soon, or email president@alvaradoschool.net for more info.
TECH BEER FEST
Description: A night of beer tasting, food, and fun! A fundraiser benefiting technology at Alvarado and hosted at an Alvarado parent’s home by the Alvarado Tech Committee. Learn more by contacting the Tech Committee.
FIESTA LATINA
Description: Fiesta Latina is a great party organized by Alvarado’s Latino community. There’s food, music, dancing, and everyone is guaranteed to have a great time.
AUCTION
Description: Be a part of Alvarado’s biggest fundraiser of the year, our Not-So-Silent Auction. Seek donations, coordinate food and entertainment, and assist with classroom art projects. Then, come and join the fabulous party!Contact organizers at auction@alvaradoschool.net to get involved.
