Methods of Giving
There are so many ways that you can help to support Alvarado. If you have any questions, please get in touch with one of the contacts noted in the box to the left.
Annual Fund and Monetary Contributions
To contribute to our Annual Fund through a one-time donation or through regular monthly contributions, you may download the Annual Fund Pledge Form at left and send it in with your donation, or use JustGive to process your donation online (see online donations below). Alvarado School is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, ID #94-6171208, and gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please make checks payable to: Alvarado PTA, 625 Douglass Street, San Francisco, CA 94114.
Matching Gifts
Many employers will match your donation to the PTA. Check with your company’s human resources department to see if they have, or are willing to start, a matching gifts program. If they do, please let us know at the time of your donation. You can also check our list of companies that have previously given matching gifts. If your employer offers a matching program but is not on our list, please email us so we can add them.
If you own a company and do not offer matching gifts to your employees, you may want to consider adding this benefit as an option to help support causes your employees care about.
Online Donations
For families and friends near and far that would like to support Alvarado, we now have an online donation system. To make an online donation, click on the JustGive button below and you’ll be directed to Alvarado’s online donation page. Receiving gifts that you just don’t want or need? Encourage your friends and family to make a gift to Alvarado in your name.
Please note: Your receipt from online donations will be from the PTA California Congress of Parents Teachers & Students, Inc. This is just the Alvarado PTA’s official name. Rest assured that your donation is going directly to Alvarado.
Also, all donations will be applied to the school’s Annual Fund. We apologize that we aren’t able to designate donations to a specific use, so please disregard the “Designate my donation” box on the JustGive page.
Scrip
You can support Alvarado by participating in our scrip programs with Rainbow Grocery, Whole Foods, and eScrip. Rainbow Grocery donates 10% of your purchases to Alvarado, and eScrip (an umbrella organization which has partnerships with a large number of merchants and grocery stores) donates between 1% and 5%, depending on the merchant. Whole Foods donates 4% of your purchases.
Online Shopping
Shop online at Greenraising.com or register and shop at OneCause.com and a percentage of your purchases will be donated to Alvarado. Finally, other options for online shoppers are mamapedia and savvysource, deal/coupon websites that allow you to donate 5% of your purchase to Alvarado.
Gifts in Kind
We gratefully accept donations of technology, equipment, furniture, books and other items that are in good condition and are relevant to our educational programs and mission. Please see our Wishlist page for an updated list of the items we need most critically.
