Bike/Roll/Walk To School Day
Join us Wednesday, Dec. 11 (and the second Wednesday of each month), as we bike, walk, scooter, bus or otherwise green commute to school. You can join or drop your students with parent and teacher volunteers at 7:30 am at one of the Walking School Buses leaving from 23rd/Castro or 25th/Diamond, or the Bike Train departing from 23rd/Church. Parent and student raffles, the Golden Shoe Award to the class with the most participants, snazzy stickers, hearty treats, and warm coffee are part of the fun! Note that students participating in the Bike Train should already know how to ride a bike. All students not bused should enter through the lower yard gate to be tallied. Please give yourself enough time to arrive to school on time!
Alvarado’s Art Committee proudly presents DRAMA FUN-FAMILY ART WORKSHOP hosted by our very own drama teacher, Michelle Holdt Roderick. All are invited to join us on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10am to noon in the cafeteria. Acting followed by tamales and other regional holiday specialties. Kindly let us know if you’re able to attend by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or texting 415-867-8719 by midnight on Dec. 9 so we can ensure enough food for all.

School Pages is a new school-wide directory and communications system. It is secure and private to our school only. It can be organized by class, and it allows you to communicate with your fellow parents directly. To register, first email the coordinator at SchoolPages@alvaradoschool.net, and your email will be entered into the system. Next, click on the SchoolPages link on the menu bar and register. Once registered, you can update your own information, sign up for volunteer activities, communicate with parents in your child’s grade and more.
We encourage suggestions on how to make using SchoolPages even better. Questions? Comments? Please email the coordinator at SchoolPages@alvaradoschool.net.
