Morning Drop-off DOs and DON’Ts

In our never-ending effort to streamline our morning drop-off protocol please review the following DOs and DON’Ts. Remember that our ultimate goal is to provide a safe manner in which our students exit their cars and enter the school grounds.
DO – Approach the white bus zone on 22nd Street facing toward Eureka St. NEVER, EVER come from the opposite direction and make a u-turn at the corner. We suggest that you drive to Douglass Street and turn down the hill on 22nd St. approaching so the school is on the right.
DON’T – Drop off your child on the opposite side of the street… NEVER, EVER, EVER!
DO – Be EXTRA careful of pedestrians and REMEMBER that THEY have the RIGHT of WAY
…ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS!
DO – Drive slowly and WAIT IN LINE along the bus zone.
DON’T – stop on Douglass St. and let your child out at the front of the school! This is dangerous and others coming behind will be very annoyed.
DO – Be considerate of our neighbors – never park or stop in driveways.
DO – Get hugs and kisses out of the way before your child exits the car.
DON’T – Get out of the car to “help” your child. Do NOT put things in your trunk. We want to keep our line of cars moving fluidly.
DO – Keep conversations and small talk to a minimum as we are trying to keep the line moving – chit-chat will hold things up…
DON’T – Dart in and out of the line, rather please wait for the car in front of you to drive away before you take off. ALWAYS check your side view mirror and look behind you before re-entering the driving lane on 22nd St… Avoid close calls.
DO – Be very mindful of the buses… do NOT park in the white zone EVER, EVER, EVER – even after the 7:50 bell since we have several Special Education buses that drop off throughout the morning.
DO – DO – DO – Arrive between 7:30 – 7:50 AM. Do NOT wait until the last minute to arrive at school. The service ends at 7:50 because that is when school begins and we all have schedules to keep and students to serve in an academic capacity. Only you can reduce the chaos by arriving to school ON TIME and following the above guidelines!
SIs y NOs de cuando deja a su(s) hijo(s) en la escuela en la mañana
Por favor ayúdenos con nuestros esfuerzos continuos de mejorar el sistema de dejar a sus hijos en la escuela. Revise la siguiente lista de SIs y NOs y recuerde que nuestra prioridad principal es generar un sistema seguro para que los estudiantes bajen de sus automóviles y entren a la escuela.
SI – Acérquese a la zona de buses (que esta pintada en blanco) en la calle 22, mirando hacia la calle Eureka. NUNCA JAMAS llegue desde la dirección opuesta y haga una vuelta en “U” en la esquina. Le sugerimos que llegue manejando por la calle Douglass y curve en la calle 22, colina abajo; así encontrara la puerta de la escuela a mano derecha.
NO – Deje a su(s) hijo(s) en la vereda que queda en frente a la puerta de la escuela… NUNCA JAMAS!!
SI – Tenga MUCHO cuidado con los peatones y RECUERDE que ELLOS tienen PRIORIDAD al cruzar… SIEMPRE, SIEMPRE, SIEMPRE!!
SI – Maneje despacio y ESPERE EN FILA en la zona de parqueo de buses
NO – Pare en la calle Douglass y deje a su hijo(a) al frente de la fachada principal de la escuela! Es peligroso, y las personas que manejen detrás de usted se molestaran.
SI – Sea considerado con nuestros vecinos –nunca parquee o pare frente a sus garajes.
SI – Guarde los besos y abrazos para antes de que su hijo(a) salga de su vehiculo.
NO – Salga de su vehiculo para “ayudar” a su hijo(a). NO ponga cosas que su hijo (a) necesita bajar en el cajón de su automóvil. Necesitamos que la fila de autos se mueva rápidamente.
SI – Mantenga las conversaciones y saludos con conocidos al mínimo, ya que estamos tratando de que la fila fluya rápidamente –las conversaciones con otros van a hacer que la línea se detenga…
NO – Entre y salga súbitamente de la línea de autos, en vez, espere que el auto delante del suyo se vaya antes de que usted trate de irse. SIEMPRE mire por sus espejos, retrovisor y de los costados, antes de ingresar de nuevo en el carril de autos de la calle 22… Evite sustos y accidentes!
SI – Sea respetuoso(a) con los buses… NUNCA JAMAS parquee en la vereda de buses (pintada de blanco) – incluso después de que suene la campana a las 7:50 ya que tenemos varios buses con alumnos de Educación Especial que llegan a distintas horas de la mañana.
SI – SI – SI – Llegue entre las 7:30 y las 7:50 AM. NO espere hasta el último minuto para llegar a la escuela. Nuestro servicio termina a las 7:50 porque a esa hora las clases comienzan y todos tenemos otras responsabilidades que cumplir y estudiantes a los cuales atender académicamente. Solo usted puede reducir el caos al llegar a la escuela PUNTUALMENTE y al seguir las reglas aquí mencionadas!
